Brand democrat
For the People...
For decades Democrats have been working to create a better America for all Americans. Democrats have balanced the federal budget, improved health care, fought for individual freedom and liberties, improved military readiness, enforced the law, leveled the playing field for small businesses, created opportunities for corporate growth, and created programs to protect seniors and lift up those in need. The list goes on.
Democrats have not been good at branding or touting these accomplishments.
For 45 years Democratic politicians have been hesitant or afraid to proclaim that government can be a force for good (which is what the US Constitution envisions). When Ronald Reagan stated that “government is the problem” in 1981, it jump-started a long Republican campaign to malign and destroy governmental institutions and the Americans that work in them. In essence, it began a campaign to destroy the will of the people, a unity and will that the US Constitution requires for the very existence of the United States of America.
Democrats worked to push back against that anti-American vision, but when Republicans were in power, they created the conditions that made their “government is the problem” campaign a reality. Republicans successfully branded Democrats pro-government, which the public saw as negative, and anti-liberty.
The irony is that during these decades it has been Democrats who have been fighting to up-hold the US Constitution, an enlightenment road map for good government, to create a government by the people and for all the people.
Every American has benefited from the work of Democrats, even those who have never voted for a Democrat. Based on demographics, MAGA Republicans have benefited (or would benefit) the most from Democratic policies and initiatives, yet this group has a hatred of Democrats that cannot be quenched, stoked by lies and fanciful stories that make this group feel like they are under siege.
The Democratic Brand is simple:
RULE OF LAW
Our nation exists because of laws created to “form a more perfect union.”
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
Monies only should be spent in support of the infrastructure needed to support and protect the American people.
SOCIAL SOLIDARITY
“We the people” are creators and beneficiaries of a society bound together by the ideals expressed in our founding documents.

Our moral and ethical responsibility to the nation and each other.
Rule of Law
Adhering to the rule of law goes beyond honoring what defines us as Americans, The United States Constitution, adhering to the rule of law is an ethical responsibility that binds us together. Honesty and enlightened moral values can bring dignity and prosperity to all of us as Americans. When we play by the rules, we create opportunities to succeed in whatever endeavor drives our lives. Respect for the rule of law generates respect for America and each American.
Deficit spending is a threat to Americans
Fiscal Responsibility
The US economy is large, diverse, and deeply intertwined with the global economy and global events. It is necessary to weight spending away from “things” and government departments that drain resources and create only short term benefits, and increase spending on the American people and social projects that lead to long term economic benefits and growth as well as strengthen our national security.
E Pluribus Unum
Social Solidarity
Promoting our general welfare means intensifying the means for Americans to be healthy, educated, and as prosperous as possible. Our individual liberty is not just derived from law, it is derived from the consent of the governed. When we uphold and advocate for the basic human rights of all, we are creating the conditions of liberty for ourselves. Within our borders and beyond, the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness require us to take action to protect our global future. When environmental and social conditions are created for humanity to thrive, individuals thrive.
